Barry Isett & Associates, Inc. (BIA) is a full-service engineering firm, with locations in Trexlertown, Delaware Valley, and Hazleton, PA. BIA began offering engineering services in 1977. Our initial services included structural and civil engineering and surveying to architects, private clients, and developers. BIA civil engineers combine their knowledge and creativity with 21st Century technology to provide solutions for clients' projects, from the development of challenging sites to the improvement to existing facilities. Our greatest satisfaction comes from finding creative solutions for clients who thought they had insurmountable problems. BIA's structural engineers design the structure for a building's functions, including the architectural features and the heating, ventilating, and electrical systems. The structural aspects of a building may often be hidden, but they are always vital. BIA structural engineers calculate how to make an architect's plan work in a safe and cost-effective manner. Our services also include investigations that can determine the physical integrity of a structure, and reports that can recommend alternative solutions to preserve an asset, whether new or centuries old. BIA's professional geologists, scientists, and technicians help clients meet the local, state, and Federal environmental requirements that are part of project development. We have helped clients obtain and execute Growing Greener and other grants, and have received statewide honors for environmental assessments, remediation, restoration, and preservation. Our department includes Sewage Enforcement Officers, PA-licensed professional geologists, and a soil scientist. Staff members hold certifications in lead, asbestos, and OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Training.
